How do I sign up for the IAAF/AL-Bank WHM 2014 mass participation race?

The mass race is sold out!

Can I pass on my starting number to another person, if I’m unable to attend?

Yes, it is possible to pass on your number to another person. When you sell your number, the buyer just change the informations in the participant profile here. Name Changes costs 100 DKK + administration fee, all other changes are free.

Can I get a refund if I’m unable to attend?

The registration fee is non-refundable, read more about the terms and conditionshere

Can anyone participate in the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships 2014 mass participation race?

All runners who are 16 years of age in 2014 may participate in the mass participation race. The elite, approximately 300 athletes from around the world, will lead the race and right after the 30,000 recreational runners will be lined up.
It will not be possible to participate as a wheelchair user.
It is not allowed to run with a baby jogger or other vehicles.

What does it mean to participate in the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships 2014?

When you participate as a recreational runner in the mass race, you can’t win the actual IAAF/AL-Bank IAAF World Half Marathon Championships 2014, but you still get the full WHM experience because you will be right behind the elite.
The event meets the highest standards of the IAAF and as a recreational runner this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a world championship as a participant instead of being a spectator.

Will there be storage for luggage?

Yes - detailed information about luggage storage will be described during March.

How do I get to and from the starting/finishing area?

In the beginning of March all the practical information you will require is going to be found on the website.

Where is the starting/finishing area?

The starting/finishing area will be in front of the parliament Christiansborg Castle in the centre of Copenhagen.

Which roads will be closed off and will public transport be affected?

Citizens Information about road closing and public transport will be published here on the website in the beginning of March.

When and how will I receive my number and chip?

Starting numbers and chips have to be picked up at Copenhagen 2014 Expo in 'Sparta hallen' at Østerbro in Copenhagen from Tuesday 25 March until Friday 28 March 2014. Read more here.

Is it possible to pick up the starting number on the race day?

There will be a very, very limited possibility to pick up starting numbers for the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships on the race day, Saturday 29 March 2014 from 8am to 11 am at the City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen). However, this is the participant's own responsibility, which means that delays caused trafic problems, waiting time or other kind of delays will be the individual runner's responsibility. Therefore, the World Half Marathon organizers recommend all participants to pick up the starting number at Copenhagen 2014 Expo from 24 to 28 March in Sparta Hallen in Copenhagen. 

Can I get my name on my front number bib, like the elite?

Yes, the recreational runner's name will be printed on the starting number.

Is there a time limit to be able to participate in the IAAF/AL-Bank WHM 2014?

Runners at all levels can participate. However, there is a time limit of three hours net.

Can I win the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships 2014?

To win the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships 2014 you must represent your national athletics federation and registered with the IAAF to represent your country.

Will I have my gross time or net time registered?

All runners will have both times registered.

Where can I find the results after the race?

Will official merchandise be sold?

Information on merchandise will be made available on the website in the beginning of March.
